It’s time for the 9th annual, Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival, starting tomorrow at Memorial Peace Park, and continuing through on Sunday.
If you’ve never been to this festival, it’s a very high energy event, with an incredible variety of colours, music and sights from all around the Caribbean being served up. There’ll be 10 live bands performing on two stages during the whole weekend, along with street vendors, and six different food vendors as well.

About three weeks ago, I wrote a post on the upcoming Maple Ridge Jazz & Blues Festival, taking place on Saturday, August 8th. I’m now happy to report that some more information has come in regarding the lineup for the event.
The Shuffle Demons will participate as part of their 25th anniversary tour.
Bill Coon, the 2009 Canadian National Jazz Awards ‘Guitarist of the Year’ will be performing along with 2009 ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ Ross Taggart.
